Father’s day is right around the corner! We celebrate Father’s Day annually on third Sunday of June. As a counterpart to Mother’s Day, Father’s Day is a time for the family to say thank you to all of the fathers in our lives for all of their help. And what father doesn’t like a big thank you from his family and loved ones!

Below are some wonderful ideas to say thanks to the father or husband in your life and make his day as fun as possible.

Make Father’s Day a family day: What father doesn’t like spending quality time with his family? Dad’s generally enjoy doing activities, like going to the park, taking a walk with the family, a bike ride with the family, watching a sporting event with family, or even grilling out with the family. However the father or husband in your life enjoys family time together, use Father’s Day as an opportunity to get the entire family together for dad’s favorite family-time activity.

Food!: Although cliché, the saying, “the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach” is pretty much spot on. Show your father the appreciation he deserves by making him his favorite meal, baking him a cake or cookies, or even taking him to his favorite restaurant with the family.

Gifts: All fathers love a good gift. Instead of gifting something like a tie or socks, give a more personal gift like a handwritten card or note. Or even make a family activity out of creating a card or drawing for dad showing him how much you love him and appreciate him.

What’s more, give your father the gift of relaxation during Father’s Day by helping out around the home and outdoors. Take one of dad’s easy, routine outdoor activities, like watering flowers or pulling some weeds, and make it a family activity to do this chore for dad so he doesn’t have to.

However you plan to show your father or husband love and appreciation on Father’s Day, give it a personalized touch that he will truly enjoy and feel loved. From all of us at Connell’s Furniture & Mattress, we’re wishing you and your family a very happy and special Father’s Day!
